"Tennessee hit by E. coli outbreak traced to Romaine lettuce"

"Tennessee is the fourth state to report illnesses caused by E. coli-tainted shredded Romaine lettuce, federal health officials say.

Since the outbreak was reported last month, there have been 23 confirmed illnesses and seven probable cases in Michigan, New York, Ohio and Tennessee, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says. So far, 12 people have been hospitalized and three have developed kidney failure. The victims, two-thirds of them males, are ages 13 to 31..."
