"House panel: Records trace Iowa egg farm salmonella to 2008"

"Records show that an Iowa egg producer involved in a massive recall reported 426 positive tests for salmonella between 2008 and this year, including 73 samples potentially contaminated with the strain that has sickened 1,519 people so far, a House committee says.

Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms of Iowa recalled 550 million eggs last month after they were linked to a nationwide outbreak of salmonella enteritidis. The House Energy and Commerce Committee wrote Wright County Egg owner Austen "Jack" DeCoster to ask why he hadn't disclosed the salmonella results before and what his company had done about them, the Des Moines Register writes ...
