"Missouri gets an F in reporting food-borne illness"

"Missouri is among the states failing to adequately detect food-related outbreaks, according to a national report issued Wednesday.

The report, which looked at 10 years of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, gave letter grades ranging from A's to seven states and F's to 14 states, including Missouri.

Issued by the Washington-based Center for Science in the Public Interest, the study analyzed how often states reported outbreaks compared to two benchmark states — Oregon and Minnesota — both known for having rigorous outbreak surveillance and investigation..."
