"The Fairview berry processor connected to the hepatitis A outbreak in eight states has passed an inspection by Oregon and county officials.
Specialists from the Oregon Department of Agriculture, Oregon Public Health Division and the Multnomah County Health Department visited Townsend Farms last week. They did not inspect equipment or take samples for testing but instead focused on employee health and food-handling.
The point of the inspection was to ensure that no employee had become infected by the Organic Antioxidant Blend or, in turn, passed the virus to friends or family. A patient is infectious about a week before symptoms appear, which typically happens within about a month."
