"Food safety news: Pet treats infect 21 people with Salmonella"

The Oregonian | Lynne Terry

Pet treats contaminated with Salmonella are suspected of sickening at least 21 people in New Hampshire.

The Concord Monitor reports that health officials have linked the illnesses to Joey’s Jerky pet treats, made by Kritter’s Kitchen Kreations. The company, based in New Hampshire, recalled the treats, the article said. There is no listing of a recall on the Food and Drug Administration website.

It’s not clear where the treats were sold. A call and email to the company by The Oregonian were not returned.
