"Food safety advocates are urging members of a House-Senate conference committee to strike down a pair of GOP-backed amendments to the farm bill now under consideration.
The Make Our Food Safe Coalition and the Safe Food Coalition take exception at a pair of measures attached to te House’s version of the legislation, approved in July."
Sandy Eskin, director of food safety for the Pew Charitable Trusts said more studies are unnecessary and would be duplicative.
“Our view is that type of analysis, and many others, have been done by FDA,” she said.
Delays in the implementation of the regulations would put public safety at risk, Eskin said.
